This is the last race for 2011.  Torturing hills along the way with 2 loops to complete the run before finishing at the Bukit Kiara Club.  Only three of us came for the run while Shankar and Ravi were tight up with personal matter.

We have a new member joining the coolpacer team, Leonard Lee in this run.  His very first run since the donkey years ago and a proud father to a new baby boy.  We will see more of him in coming runs.  MPSJ run has also brought the best out from Jason and Edward. 

Jason dips below 60 minutes in his 10km and finish ahead at 59.00.  As for Edward, this race was his

Coolpacer has two new members joining this run for the first time;
Edward Siew and Sunny Lee.

Sunny ran the 10km while Edward started later for the 5 km.   Just got married 2 months ago, Lai Choo came to support hubby Edward at the run from starting point to the finishing line.

For the 21km run, me and Sati took part.  Sati started from behind after the 21km race took off 3-4 minutes later.  It was Sati's first ever 21km run and he manage to complete it with only a few stops despite feeling the cramp on his right thigh.  Came in time 2 hrs and 20 minutes is nothing to shy about for a first timer.

Considering our first group run after the Raya long break.  Departed home about 6.15 am and arrived AEON Klang about 6.50 am.

There was plenty of car parks in the shopping complex and estimated about 2200 runners have participated in this run as heard on the announcement. 

The race started at about 7.30 am for the men open just about 8 minutes after the women, juniors and veteran category took off.

As usual, right after the gun off, I sped off to avoid congestion ahead and was running about 12.5km/hour within the first 3 km.

Overall run was comfortable but rather conservative to run faster assuming  the distance will hit 7km or more but it turned out to be shorter when the  AEON building came into sight at the 5.5km mark. 

Despite anchoring a knee injury, Jason completed the run with his usual pace and came in shortly after me, followed by Denver and Harris.  This time around, we have Michelle (Jason's sister) taking part in the women open. 

At the car part, the fun part came where things just don't look quite enough for Denver and Harris without whacking a kow kow breakfast. 

As usual, Denver with his non-stop blah blah about Mc Donalds breakfast while Harris was trying to convince his way to get us to eat shark meat.  Shark meat for breakfast ???  anyway, we went but the restaurant was not even opened and we ended up at BKT instead.  Happy ending at last......

Garmin Forerunner 610 GPS Watch

The excitement came today, finally. 

It has been months since I'vee been shopping for this watch in attempt to find the best price deal, checking from online deals at various websites to travelling to Singapore in June 2011.   The price per unit at Singapore was outrageously expensive at SIN650 and nothing to talk futher after conversion to RM.  The online was a better deal, at some, you can purchase at USD350 and shipping will take a couple of weeks.

Anyway, am glad that I hold my horses for the past several months and finally through Ravi's connection, we got the best deal so far.  Today, I will make a purchase through Ravi as he is going to pick up 3 units from the Garmin agent at incredible price of RM1,129.50 per unit.  The gang members will soon understood its goodies that I have been talking about. 

My previous GRS running watch was a Suunto M4 that Gopi got me as a present from the US in 2008.  That was a bad ass watch and it worked brilliantly for me but only for a while until some idiots broke into my house and stole it.  Since then, I have been wearing a cheap stop watch to keep my running time.

Anyhow, with this new gadget on our wrist, running will be more interesting for us now.

The Badminton Clash of the Warriors -- Kempen Bersih 2.0 Style

The 4th July 2011, while United States of America is celebrating their Merdeka day, we started our badminton session for the first time after 6 months of laying off.  This time around, our badminton philosophy is a bit different than last time.  Now, we strive our strength and tighten our muscles to clamp down members that ponteng with no excuse by making them pay the fees and scrub their 'maruah' with mud water .....all Bersih 2.0 style.

Venue : Next to Tune Hotel, Kota Damansara

Time  : 9.00 pm to 11.00 pm

Date : 4th, 11th,18th and 25th in July 2011

The badminton court has excellent flooring, green carpet like the All England standard, clean air but rather felt the heat fuming inside the hall.  Anyhow, the court is still one of the best.....sure la, for RM28/hour.

Weather was real beauty this morning.  Overall, the guys did well.   Since June 2011 after the StanChart KL marathon, this MCD Olympic run will mark the beginning of our hectic run schedule ahead with race almost  every week until the fasting month in August.
