In short, the organizers did an excellent job for this charity run.  We arrived at The Curve about 6.30 am and saw lots of marshalls diverting the heavy traffic to a nearby basement car park that was only 3 minutes of walk from the starting point.  The race started right on time with the women category at 7.00 am and later followed by the men open category at 7.10 am.

Met Hosie at the 8.5km at a bus stop opposite Center Point.  She was taking pictures of the runners and  comforting a senior citizen that gave up running and sitting at the bus stop.

Another brillant run by Shankar.  Overtook me at 9.0km mark and then, all I could do was to stay close behind him despite repetition cramps on both my calfs.  He accelerated at the last km and I can only see his shadow at the finishing line after some runners overtooked me at the last 300 meter.

Sati....you doing good, my man.  Dipping below 58 minutes for the first 10km was already an improvement this morning.  There are many races ahead for you to get better.

You will be ahead of the rest with just a little more of focus run training.
Bravo !!!!

This chap, Jason Toh completed the 11km run this morning without a sign of giving up.  He pia kau kau lat this morning from start to the end.  I think he will rather choose to run until lao sai than see other PEOPLE OVERTAKE HIM !!!!!
Sheryl will be very proud of you.

Last but not least,
Ladies and Gentlemen, "the best award of this morning, for the most outstanding young virgin that woke up at 5.30 am on a Sunday morning just to to run something so crazy that he has never done before in his life, goes to MR. DENVER KEONG !!!!!!!!

Not only that, he was chasing wildly at his dream girls from behind and managed to finish the run with the hotties at the finishing line.  If you are proud of him, give him a call.

STANDARD CHARTERED KL MARATHON 2011

What : Standard Chartered KL Marathon
When : 26th June 2011 at 7.00 AM
Where : Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur
Distance : 10.70km
Medal : Finisher for All

Results :
0'58.35 - Shankar Raj
0'57.46 - LY Tan
1'03.54 - Satiyaselan (PB)
1'24.25 - Ravindran

The race this morning was quite a messy one for the 10km runners because the starting point for this year event has changed from Dataran Merdeka to the main road of Tasik Perdana. As a result of the relocation of the starting point, many available car parks elsewhere were taken by the full and half marathoners as many parking spots at Tasik Perdana were closed for entrance.

The roads that are accessible to Dataran Merdeka and Tasik Perdana were jammed up with cars as early as 6.00 am due to many road closures.

Thank goodness, we left home early and manage to make it to the starting point with only a couple of minutes late after the race started. Other than scrambling through the hugh walking crowd in front of us, the rest of the run was a pleasant one.

Overall performance, Sathia did really well in this race by clocking
1'03.54. Keep up the good work and we will soon be running the half marathon together.

.....till then, hope you enjoy the run and have a good weekend.

Hello Running World !!!!!

Hello out there,

We are the cool pacers.

For the first time, today, June 15th 2011 at 6.32 pm, our team's passion for running is put on a blog with objectives to bounce ideas with the world.

We are simple people just like you and we like sports to stay fit, healthy and of course young la.  Anyway, we were once a state runner during school days and never quite understand the importance of exercise after school.  It was the passion inside us that brought us back together from the crazy world after years of laying off sports.

At this humble stage, there are only 5 of us to introduce.  We are good buddies since years back.  Here, let me tell you about this team;

a. LY Tan, me, "The Captain"
simple, annoyed with my beer belly at times,  but loves to go gym, run whenever i have the time la.

b. Satiyaselan,  "The man with a Dream"
you want to lose weight, find this guy.

c. Shankar Raj, "The Powerpack waiting to Explode"
I salute this guy.  He has only started running on road since 7 months ago.  Just a week ago,  he clocked 1 hour 22 minutes at the New Balance 15KM at Putrajaya.

d. Ravindran Raman, "The Gaya Man"
If you see a full high tech geared with tights, sporty sunglass running pass, you are in trouble.
A man full of humors and he brings smile to others when they are down.

e. Jason Toh, "The Checker Short Man"
The youngest of the lads who loves to run in his checker shorts.  Good looks, sings like a bird and soon you will see more of him on the road running with us.

To the running world out there, you will hear more from us.

Its our honor to be part of the running community or any sport events.
Its our passion to inspire people out there to exercise.
Its our desire to help those that needs one.

So for now, cheers... Gambateh.
